The Great Bend Fire Department provides a wide variety of public education opportunities to the community and surrounding area.

Fire Extinguisher Training

The Great Bend Fire Department offers hands-on live fire extinguisher training. The Fire Inspector can come to your workplace and train your personnel. Our department recently obtained a Bull-Ex Lazer Digital system that allows us to provide realistic scenarios and training indoors.

Fire Prevention Week

Fire Prevention Week falls during the week of October 9th each year. During this week the Great Bend Fire Department will visit local schools and provide classroom presentations and fire safety trailer demonstrations. Throughout this week firefighters will contact over 2,000 area youth and provide educational demonstrations and materials on fire safety.
